Our Mission &Our Goals
The mission of The Crossings Animal Society is to ensure a loving home and quality care for every dog and cat in Bucks County, PA, Mercer County, NJ, and the surrounding area.
To achieve this purpose, The Crossings Animal Society has established the following goals:
(1) Provide programs that directly assist area dogs and cats, with emphasis on rescue and adoption, as well as provide support that allows families to keep and properly care for their pets;
(2) Provide financial assistance for routine and life-sustaining veterinary care for pet families with limited financial resources and for our shelter and rescue partners;
(3) Address animal welfare issues, particularly mistreatment, cruelty, and abuse, through (a) participation in legal advocacy organizations; (b) community outreach and education; and (c) facilitation of animal cruelty and abuse reporting;
(4) Provide resource and referral information to community residents;
(5) Educate the public, as well as schools, civic groups and government agencies, about no-kill philosophy, humane treatment of animals, and other important animals welfare issues;
(6) Acquire land, build and operate a no-kill dog and cat sanctuary;
(7) Achieve the goal of a no-kill community, with a save rate of 95-98%
of all companion dogs and cats.
