Highway earned his name the day he was found on the side of the highway and brought into rescue. Since then, this 50-pound hound mix has been taking his time getting comfortable, spending time in foster, and showing more of his personality along the way.

At about 2-3 years old, Highway is a little reserved when he first meets new people, but he's been steadily coming out of his shell. With patience and consistency, he's been learning that good things come with taking the scenic route.

Highway enjoys the company of other dogs and does well with canine friends. He can sometimes be a bit of a showoff with other male dogs and likes to make sure his opinions are known, but overall, he's a good sport and does well with proper introductions.

This handsome hound is continuing to work on his leash skills and building confidence every day. Highway is looking for a home that will give him the time and support to keep growing — and he's ready for the next stop on his journey.
