The Rainbow Bridge Memorial: A New Way To Remember Your Pet

✨Honoring a pet you've lost can sustain the unique joy they brought to the world✨
If you’ve been lucky enough to have a pet, you know the pure, unadulterated happiness and love they can bring to your life. Conversely, if you’ve had the misfortune of losing a pet, you know it can be absolutely devastating. You’d do anything to have them back in your life, in your arms, where they belong.
We truly wish we could make that possible. What we can do, perhaps as the next-best thing, is offer you a chance to honor them by sharing just a little bit of their incredible, one-of-a-kind story.
The Rainbow Bridge Memorial page in our annual Pet Calendar features a collective collage honoring the pets who hold a special place in our hearts. Each photo, name, and date is included with care, creating a meaningful tribute to the companions we continue to cherish.
Any pet can be included
You can reserve your cherished family member a spot in the Rainbow Bridge Memorial whether they:
Were rescued or not
Crossed over 3 weeks ago or 13 years ago
Had fur, feathers, or scales
In other words, if you’ve loved and lost a pet, we have a space for them.
What would you like us to know about them?
When you submit your pet, you’ll be asked to provide their name and a favorite photo. You’ll also have the option to include:
Their gotcha date, birthday, and/or date of loss
A favorite nickname (we know—only 1?!)
A small detail that captures their unique version of wonderful. Could be a favorite toy, activity, or person…could be the moment you realized you were putty in their paws. Whatever you’d like to share (brief in length, vast in meaning), we want to hear it
You can also choose to direct the content to your pet (eg, "You were my favorite part of every day.")
If you choose to submit your pet, we’ll be honored and grateful to learn just a little bit about them. Submission cost is a $25 donation to CAS.
There are a few additional ways to honor the pets you’ve lost:
You can also submit them in the general calendar contest. To review the rules and details, click here
You can reserve a meaningful day(s) for them—could be their gotcha day, birthday, day they crossed over, or any other day that carries a special meaning. To reserve a calendar day, click here
You can do all 3—just as there’s no limit to your love for your pet, there’s no limit to how you recognize them in the calendar!
Whether you’re submitting a pet’s memorial, entering them in the contest, and/or reserving a special day, you have until midnight on Sunday, October 18. In addition to the fun being a part of "I'm Rescued and Happy," your participation will be aiding the work of The Crossings Animal Society. The net proceeds from this contest and the calendar sales that follow will help support vulnerable dogs and cats, including Bosco's Fund, which provides preventative veterinary care to low-income families, and Boris & Natasha's Veterinary Fund, which supplements the cost of life-sustaining veterinary care. What's better than cute cats and dogs to break up the monotony of your inbox? For more updates on adoptions, fosters, adoptable pets, and all of the work we do with our veterinary funds, sign up for our emails! We promise we won't spam you.
