Help Us Help Mya: Emergency Surgery for an Intestinal Blockage
We are asking for your help today to cover the cost of Mya’s emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage.
Mya is just 10–11 months old, and this young Husky has had a very rough week. Her family called The Crossings Animal Society after several days of vomiting and constipation, after which she stopped eating.
Mya's person, Rich, took her to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Hillsborough, NJ, where she was diagnosed with a "linear foreign body." That, in plain English, means she swallowed something she shouldn't have and it has now blocked her intestines. Mya needs emergency surgery to remove the blockage and save her life.
Because the cost of Mya’s gastrointestinal surgery far exceeds the usual $1,000 grant we provide through Boris & Natasha’s Fund, we are asking you, our supporters, to help us cover the additional cost of her emergency care.
We are so grateful that Mya’s family kept paying attention, followed up when she wasn’t improving, and took action when her symptoms continued. We’re also grateful to the veterinary team at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital who have been willing to work with CAS and Boris & Natasha's Fund to provide Mya the care she needs.
