We Need Your Help to Save the Lives of Trenton Dogs!

FOR ALL DOG LOVERS!

Trenton Animal Shelter has been directed by the City of Trenton to  begin killing healthy and adoptable dogs.  They are now putting down FIVE DOGS A WEEK!

We at The Crossings Animal Society (CAS), cannot stand by and do nothing.  As part of the animal welfare community, we have pledged to help as many dogs as we can.

Our first step was to pull Hilda, pictured here.  She is currently having fun at doggy daycare, where she will be residing while we find just the right adoptive family for her.

UPDATE: Within the past few weeks, 10 dogs were "time stamped" to be put down.  As of July 8, none have been  killed.  Three of the dogs we initially sponsored -- Johnny, Lady, and Mandy- were adopted.  Some of the remaining dogs were pulled by rescue organizations determined to save their lives.  The remaining ones, miraculously, were spared.

Having taken responsibility for to assist with an initial seven of the Trenton Dogs, with your support we will keep that number at seven. Replacing Johnny, Lady, and Mandy are Chapo, Laura, and Violet.  Their profiles have been added below.  All are residing at Yardley Animal Kennels but Angel, who is at Trenton Animal Shelter for the time being. (We will be telling you more about Angel in the near future.)

Please know that your support has been instrumental in saving these dogs.  Our Saving Trenton Dogs fund is now over $9,000, ensuring that kennel fees for the next several  months are paid for these dogs, keeping them safe.

We are so grateful for your support, as it has made all the difference.  However, we will continue to need  your help to save our seven Trenton Dogs.  Please consider making your donation a recurring one.

We plan to continue this effort until all the Trenton Dogs are permanently safe.

There are three ways that you can help:

#1. Foster one of the Trenton Dogs.  Once one of the dogs is fostered, he or she will become a CAS dog. Each dog has his or her own page, so you can see them and learn about them.  CAS will have full information on each dog -- age and size, temperament, friendliness with others, activity level and health status.  Each will have a veterinary health certificate before they are surrendered to us.  CAS will cover the cost for all needed veterinary care.

When you become a foster for one of these Trenton Dogs, you open a space for us to save another Trenton Dog.

For a foster application, email CAS at Info@CrossingsAnimalSociety.org

#2.  Sponsor one of the Trenton Dogs.  For $25 or more, your sponsorship will be used in its entirety to help pay the boarding costs for these dogs.  Because the decision to put down the Trenton Dogs is due to cost as well as overcrowding, your sponsorship will keep these five dogs from being placed on the kill list.

When we have raised several months of boarding costs for a particular dog, we will add another Trenton Dog to the sponsorship list.

Because the boarding costs are high, we strongly encourage you to make your sponsorship a monthly recurring gift.

To sponsor, click the Donate button on the top right of the Home Page, and select "Save Trenton Dogs" on the drop-down menu.  Please be sure to tell us which Trenton Dog you would like to sponsor.

#3.  Adopt a Trenton Dog.
